break time snacks
My mind was blown
when I realized that I could take something that I have only had at family parties or nice (or any for that matter) Italian restaurants and make it as a snack during my two hour break between classes.
I am talking about bruschetta.
Not only is this snack, nutritious and delicious... it only takes about 10 minutes to prepare.
Its not everyday that I sit down and think that bruschetta would be a fast or fulfilling treat, but my friends you would be surprised. It is simple and quick with these steps:
Ingredients:
Italian/French bread
1 tomato
1 onion
basil
salt
pepper
olive oil
parmesan cheese
1. Cut up the bread into tiny pieces and stick them in the oven or toaster oven for about 5-10 minutes.
2. While the bread is toasting- chop up your tomato, onion and basil into small pieces and throw them into a bowl together.
3. Add your olive oil, salt, pepper and parmesan cheese.
4. Lightly toss all the ingredients together in the bowl, mixing them together.
5. Put a spoonful of bruschetta on each of the toasted bread pieces.
ENJOY!

Hello there!
Welcome to my blog! Hell, I am going to welcome myself to my first, EVER, blog posting!
First things first, food makes the world go round, don't you think? Without it... well... we would all be dead. So I am going to give it up for the nutritious delicacies that keep us ticking and dedicate this blog to the one of the things in my life that warms my soul. I am going to post on great meals that I have, have had and think are worth while for anyone else to try. Also, for those who are on that strict buy-one-get-one pasta noodle diet (like i was my junior year of college) no worries- I've been there, and I will make sure to add in how affordable these foods can be. Because, well... C'mon let's be honest, I am a waitress who serves $20 entrees... I don't eat them :)
